There is a tall conifer across the street from us. Some crows built a nest there, hidden among the branches, way high up. Last night, soneone, probably a racoon, must have stolen their eggs or their babies, and one of the crows has been calling since the early hours. It's so heartbreaking. The other crow has been flying back and forth, feeding the one that is mourning so vocally.
It is so sad. Lots of you probably don't like crows, but I do, despite their nasty habits.
And no, it couldn't be anything else. It is as I have written - their nest was robbed.
Poor things.

I love crows and ravens. On my way home from work I often see large groups [can't think of the collective noun] of them and even stop and have conversations with them.
I'm sorry for their loss too.

You knew that!
I don't know what the collective noun is for ravens though. Wait, I just looked it up - it's an unkindness or a conspiracy of ravens. Thanks Damos.
