I don't think I've come across anyone on p-babble who has added glycine to an antipsychotic.

While you are considering adding a perfectly natural healing agent to your cocktail, consider these as well.
Magnesium malate, magnesium glycinate, magnesium taurate...try one at a time. For depression, anxiety, bipolar, and schizophrenia.
Selenium...to bind up mercury and to stop the replication of viruses.
Zinc picolinate with copper.
Avoid anything made with wheat and dairy.
One or all of those have some amazing stories behind them even with people in a lot worse shape than you are.

> my 11 year schizophenia and isolation is killing me, my condition is severe my schrink saidWell, if it is severe, I can't explain why they aren't trying stuff. ??? I mean, staying confined in the small limited world of just antipsychotics isn't exactly anywhere close to "tryings stuff". Pubmed literature shows other "stuff" to work on resistant schizophrenia and psychotic depression. And they aren't antipsychotics. I've mentioned them before many times, so no need to go into that again. It just boggles my mind why a doctor who admits his patient is severe won't try stuff. If this isn't a time to try stuff, when is? When someone keeps trying the same ole strategy over and over (as in antipsychotics) and it doesn't work, yet they keep trying it thinking it will work, that itself is a definition of insanity. Your doctor might be more severe than you are.

I have psychotic symptoms too, i.e. schizophrenia. I really don't like glycine now, but in the past it helped with anxiety at lower dosages. Right now, being on Risperdal, I don't find glycine is helpful at all, but that's just me. Maybe you'll do well on it. Good luck!

When I was taking Glycine, I had to be careful of dosage. 2,3, even 4 grams per day may not cause significant side effects, but I noticed that taking more than 5 grams at a time caused some depression in me, so be careful of dosage. Always try lower dosages first to see how you react to it.
