Wearing Gold or Silver?

Posted by Lao Tzu on March 21, 2010, at 11:01:46

Look up the metaphysical properties of gold and silver. I wear a very thin chain of gold sometimes when I am anxious. It seems to help calm me and give me a brighter outlook. I don't know about silver. It depends on the type of person you are. Some prefer silver, some gold. I can't wear a heavy gold chain because I feel its energy is too heavy and it makes me tired, but a very thin chain of gold, say 18" or 22", gives me some comfort. I think people wear gold without realizing the kind of energy it imparts to the wearer, and they probably wear it because subconsciously it makes them feel better in addition to being beautiful and the status "thing."

I think this is extremely likely to be more psychological than physical. I'd like to see some hard evidence in terms of scientific studies regarding these elements, their proximity to skin and mood. In terms of improving my mood gold or silver touching my skin would be the last thing to concern myself with, I consider it to be pseudo science. Mercury and other heavy metals inside the body now that is something to concern yourself with.

Yeah, I kinda agree with you that it is a pseudo science. I almost feel a little embarrassed posting this. However, wearing gold jewelry does affect me psychologically if I wear it from time to time. If I wear it everyday, that feeling of comfort wanes. They talk about gold affecting the chakra points on the body. This might evoke a psychological role for wearing jewelry. I don't know for sure.

Psychological effect is of course very powerful, this is evident in the placebo effect. Sorry if I seemed to dismiss it too readily. Please don't be embarrassed to post more on this subject.

I think more than the gold, aquamarine helped me make better decisions about my nutrient regimen. While wearing it for a few weeks, I decided to completely drop Niacin and lower my vitamin C to 250mg per day instead of 500mg. I wasn't disappointed at all. In fact, I feel better. I think the Niacin was interacting with my medication and lowering the vitamin C actually produced more energy, not less. I owe this to aquamarine (Call me naive if you want) because it helped me to see what I was doing wrong. How can a gemstone do this? I don't know for sure, but that's what I've read about some of its properties on the human body. It helps you see the truth about your life. It helped open my eyes to what I was doing with my regimen. Can it help others? I think so, if you wear it consistently everyday for awhile. Now, I don't wear it so much because I don't really need it. It did its job. Yes, it's a psuedo science, but I think it is relevant for some people.
