Hi to all,
I am taking since last month a supplement based on flavonoids(diosmine and esperidine) for blood circulatory disease.
I've noticed a important improvement in my mood situation, more energy and better clear mind.
Could these effects depend on the assumption of flavonoids? Or more probably they are no correlated?
I did not foud out anything about flavonoids and mood disorders/depression on the net.
Thanks for your help!
Bye
Eve

> EveYes, there could be a relationship between the flavonoids and mood.
It is hard to find the information you seek, because the flavonoids in question are usually discussed by their specific chemical name, rather than by the more general term.
There are a number of flavonoids associated with mood elevation, and also a number of theories about why that might happen. I favour a reduction in oxidative stress, as flavonoids are usually potent antioxidants. However, research has not excluded possible receptor-binding effects, or other regulatory effects mediated within cells.
It is my belief that your experimental findings, that this flavonoid helps your sense of well-being, is an important thing for you to know. And, thank you for sharing that with us.
I hope your circulatory problems are similarly improved.

Just wondering also, wouldn't the improvement of circulation to the brain give an antidepressant effect?

Quercetin is supposed to be good for allergies, I think.
