Dr. Bob, Can't Find Notification of Post

Posted by Phillipa on January 4, 2005, at 20:35:05

Dr. Bob; I was notified on my Mail of a Thread on Psycho-Babble that won't come up. It is #437769. How do I find it? A page keeps coming up that says can't find. Thanks, Phillipa

First I replied with a "let's stick to medications", but then I deleted that and did the redirect instead.

Thanks for answering my question Dr. Bob. Have you ever considered a Board for "Older People"? I've noticed there seems to be a very young following, and then people who have been struggling for years. I know we all are alike in that we can share experiences no matter the age, but health issues also come up as we age. Thanks Phillipa

Of course I do! I guess I didn't eplain my self very well. We all share problems regardless the age. It just seems that after, let's say 40, things start to "fall apart" regardless of how we eat, how much excercise, etc. For example, I used to have my own Aerobic Dance program when "Dance" was in. I also jogged my altime best was l3 1/2miles. Now I'm told by docs that the reason I have a bad back is from too much excercise. Things are in "vogue" and then go out. It used to be my mood stabilizer and anti-depressant. Walking just doesn't do it for me. What kind of Board do we need for this? Maybe an excercise one? Any suggestions my fellow Babbler. Regards Phillipa

Aw, thats ok. I guess I just am a bit supersensitive.

I would say that that kind of thing would be a good topic for the health board. I would like to know the stuff I have to look foward too :-)

I know that running can be like that - bad for the joints and ligaments long term. Anything high impact I suppose. I have heard that swimming is a terrific form of exercise. Low impact and a good cardio workout.

You're right it is. Only problem is, even though I used to swim on a team when I was a kid, I am too chicken to get "wet" now. It's one of the many dumb phobias I have developed. No med can help this. Any suggestions since I can't find a T down here ? I know it sounds crazy, but you wouldn't believe how many phone calls we have made trying to find one. Maybe Dr. Bob will offer to use his talents and do therapy with us via internet. What kind of Board do you have in mind? Phillipa

With respect to your phobia... I thought it might be a bit much to post a reply to psychology, but there are other internet therapists. Here is a link:

Hey, Thanks. You are a wealth of information. Maybe you should start your own Web Site. I can see why you are now a "Greeter" for Newbies. Again thanks, your efforts are appreciated. Phillipa

Aw shucks :-)

I was just told that about the exercise because I have injuries which rule out anything with impact.

The internet therapy link was provided by one of the guest experts on here (and can be found in the archives).

Come, be a newbie greeter too :-)
