Annie, I quit cold-turkey from 1-1/2 packs a day in 1987. I had physical symptoms for about 6 weeks (tired, weird stuff like being congested). However, I am a wimp when it comes to medications, side effects, etc., so hopefully your experience will be different/better. But the only reason I'm telling you this is so you hang in there, however long it takes. The lousier I felt, the more I was determined I was never going to pick up a cigarette and subject myself to this crap again. Good luck!
