nz's treatment of refugees

Posted by alexandra_k on March 30, 2022, at 21:17:06

you would think that refugees would be a desirable thing for new zealand to have. i mean... who wouldn't want a bunch of people who are powerless? i mean you could do anything anything anything anything anything to them and what are they going to do about it. right?

i mean... that's pretty desirable. right? i mean... they don't speak english. mostly. terrific. we want people who don't say anything and comply with instructions only. we are getting better at con-municating what we have decided is right for you given our infitely superior wisdom and insight and judgment... so you best comply with new zealand government directive.. right?

so i'm wondering who or what has been responsible for the nz government not taking it's quota of refugees every single year since... forever.

i mean...

is it that internatioal community will not let the government take teh slaves it wants...

else... is the hold-up actually really and truly from the NZ government's end?

i'm trying to get a handl eon whath it means that a bunch of people who were held by australian authorities in manus iland in the phillapines are going to be shipped to new zealand.

i mean, i know that australia doesn't worry about nzl being a backdoor to australia. because australia seems to want nzl to be that. they take the strategies for teh race to the bottom from canberra and they intentionally choose to import them up and around australia, too.

dr leeks - went from new zealand to melborne.
harlene hayes - went from otago to western australia.

etc.

i would imagine that australia is getting on board with the programme of not paying it's workers.

many of the australian graduates seem to pick up positions in the new zealand hospitals...

that seems common...

i don't know that they are actually paying tehm. but they seem to be preferentially 'hiring' them for studnet training positions...

i guess because teh aussie dollars go further buying into the corruption racket thing.
