and when people did complete and when people did get their work signed off on they would always say:
i did EVERYTHING my supervisor said. and everything worked out okay.

my supervisor didn't say much of anything to me.
but who cares. right? he doesn't sign off on qualification completion. external examiners decide.
so he decides that the work won't go out to external examiners.

that's why you produce garbage for universities only. insofar or inasmuch as they pay you only.
because they take from some and give to others.
it's like what John Matthewson would say: It doesnt' matter who DOES the work it only matters who gets CREDIT FOR HAVING DONE THE WORK.
It doesnt matter who has the ideas. it only matters who gets the credit for having had the ideas

The conferences went from people turnign up with proper presentations... going to each others talks... engaging...
to people turning up laughing and joking about how they had only written about 1/4 of it on the plane flight there.. not going to people's talks because they were finishing writing theirs.. the talks not, then, being particularly good to go to because they were not well developed or thought out...
excuses for people to go holidaying...
