Doesn't belong on 'alternative' board

Posted by Partlycloudy on June 13, 2014, at 18:39:20

This is more of a holistic approach.
So where I have recuperated the most and benefited has been at a yoga retreat, a plane ride away from home. Once an an ashram, it's now solely a teaching center in a beautiful location. Slightly remote. Delicious food, to be eaten cafeteria style or in seclusion, it's very healthy. Locally sourced, organic, vegan or vegetarian requirements are easily accommodated.

The classes are first rate. I attended my first conference during a hurricane (no power) and the environment was still peaceful and happy. Been back several times.

I recently did a course closer to home through a rehab facility that was a farce. I was telling the "almost" nurses what my meds did for me and how they worked. Very depressing otherwise, watching very young addicts bide their time until they could go back and experience near death again. I was happy to be home.

But the yoga retreat is on my long term treatment plan. Excellent instructors, facilities, and reputation. There is even a course for substance abuse (for instructors) that I know I would benefit from.
