i used to LOVE this show in aussie.
partly because it is like the cricket... they would do live streaming for 'big brother up late' between the hours of... 10pm and 2am or something like that... and you can have it on in the background (like the cricket) and mostly... nothing interesting happens. so you can write or work or whatever... then, when something actually happens there is a commentry (to catch your attention) and an action replay. so... you don't actually miss anything, and you can also get quite a lot done.
but big brother is better than the cricket because it is a bunch of socially gregarious people all living together. and about 30 days into the show... something amazing happens: the show actually becomes worth watching. the interpersonal dynamics are WICKED COOL. i mean... these people really are probably the most different to me people that there are in the whole wide world... and their psychology and the way they are... it is just wonderful. like a nature show.
since i'm in nz now we are probably watching a show that was live in aussie sometime... last year. sigh. we don't get the live streaming uplate... just an hour or half an hour or whatever per day... but, well, it gives me something to look forward to.
i wish we got the live streaming. dammit. why don't we get that?? i wish we were another state of aussie sometimes (it is written into their constitution but we decline because of our treaty in part). sigh. our economy would profit... and i could watch big brother up late live. win win!!
