We changed from a dignified and paranoid 'God Save the Queen' with great lines like.....

O Lord our God arise
Scatter her enemies
And make them fall
Confound their politics
Frustrate their knavish tricks
On Thee our hopes we fix
God save us all

To a glorification of the landgrab anthem called Advance Australia Fair, one line of which is memorable.....

'Our land is girt by sea'.
