All I can tell you is that the average wait for SSDI is something like two years. The NYT just had an article about this, so that's where my info comes from. Aparently SSDI applications have soared in the last few years. More time processing and more scrutiny of applications.

Going back to work seems best. Maybe being busy and engaged will make you feel better, not worse.
