Do you think the 'van' is the Dutch equivalent of the German 'von' and therefore should be lower case?

This alone makes me wonder if he was from the USA. I could say that this has indeed been my lifelong credo and am unsurprised that she should wish to disgorge (disburse?) the funds presently in her BANK, that I accept her love and devotion, and that I too feel misused by unbelievers.
