Well, anyway, my wife and I were walking along with a Japanese speaker and another Japanese man we passed said 'Why are you talking to these zombies?'
And I spent a lot of time wondering if he was talking to me or the Japanese speaker.
Then it made sense to me, but (as one of the zombies) I could not think of a very good reply.
That's when the Japanese speaker said to me 'Pay no attention to him. He's drunk.'
And I thought 'No, no. He makes a good point. Surely.....'
Not in the best tradition of Japanese politeness though.
