Is tightlacing dangerous?

I'm reading about wearing tightlacing corsets to reduce waist size. You can slowly reshape your ribs and organs. Is this dangerous?

I would love to have an 20 inch waist!

Maybe I'll ask pdoc about it since she is a doctor.
