I'd be cautious with the alcohol.
Perhaps it would be good to think and write about what you are feeling that gives you the urge to do things that your rational mind knows are self-destructive. Then see if you can come up with some things to do that will pull you out of this mindset by either soothing or distracting you. Walking? Listening to music? I suspect you already know some healthier options. Perhaps the act of writing it out will help.
