Oh yes Yes YES! I was hardcore addicted to minesweeper for a while there.
One game I just KNOW that you will like (that has a certain amount of addictive potential but is wonderful in its conception and quirky turn based system that will actually have you wanting to walk AWAY from the game to mull things over) is Nethack:

Incase playing a dungeon crawler with ASCII characters doesn't amuse you there are (basic) tile-sets available, too.
Once you die then that is it: you are dead. Game over. Please play again. Playing again ain't so bad, though, because the dungeons are randomly generated each time within certain parameters (though levels persist once one has been generated). I'd be surprised if you told me you haven't played this already...
