I guess I say it more like askin, wantin, or skatin.

People always sound so funny trying to do a southern accent. Its usually WAY over done.

Actually there are different accents within TX! East and West TX have way more of a twang and sound very similar to me (but probably not to them!). Then Houston strangely seems to have less of a twang than everywhere else. Maybe because its so big. Dallas is somewhere between all of them. Then other states, like NC, has a completely different accent altogether! Not to mention, Georgia, Kentucky, and so on.

I think that's probably about right. Of course to me it sounds like I'm saying it normal - unless I hear a recording of myself!

No, that's what my professor taught me. Pro-NUN-ciation.
