True Romance

Posted by verne on April 30, 2007, at 0:59:42

I've noticed a trend among online posters looking for romance and companionship to look for, or at least *fall for* humor first.

What I see is lots of people trying to be funny. This is the nature of internet *dating*. People flirt from one joke to the next.

I think seductive and humorous flirtation should be approached with caution. I'm naturally funny (how terribly immodest but true), but I don't try to disarm others to meet my romantic needs. (if I do, it ain't working)

Sure I do it anyway, but that's beside the point. Besides, I extend my compassion beyond tuna nets - I catch and release all jokes.

I don't need or want a date with anyone on this site. (no offense) I can't take even the most *intimate* online exchange seriously. Makes me wonder how healthy this online forum is for the romatically inclined.
