If you're hurting today

Posted by Phil on April 21, 2007, at 14:03:43

If you had great plans for the weekend on Monday but watched them fade by Saturday morning into a twisting, turning, depressed, never ending sleep, then we're on the same road.

Do this for a decade or more and as your friend's lives move up and on and on, you find it harder and harder to explain that you really are sick or maybe getting more sick. (You are acutely aware that these years aren't coming back) They begin to see your treatment as failing and even your closest friend loses patience and says to get off the meds, drink a few beers and smoke a joint. *Have fun* or what's the use. What's the use? Now he understands.

You may be hurting today, but you're not alone. OK, you're not alone.

The closest I can come to sociable is probably here and coming here has dwindled to rarely.

Everything outside my door seems light years away. I want it to go away and if my friends don't understand, I'll show them the door too.

I've been stuck in a Texas sized rut for many years. I want to be better. The only light in my life are a few like minded sufferers and my 20 pound orange'kitty'Jules.

I've had him over 5 years and haven't spent one night away from him. As Stevie Ray would sing, "You'e my sweet little baby, I'm your little loverboy."

If your life is or feels similar or feels similar in some other way, you're not alone.

Peace in the middle east, peace and prayers at VT.

Phil
