If you can't track down your (flooded out) hairdresser is there anybody you know whose hair you think looks good, cut and color wise, that you'd feel comfortable asking who she goes to?
If you want an economic cut/color you might try a beauty school. The students don't charge much and likely do his/her own shampooing, so you don't have to worry about a double tip.
My hairdresser shampoos my hair herself, so that's one less tip to worry about. I use my cell phone's built in tip calculator to figure out how much to leave. That'll tell you how bad my basic math skills are, but at least my hairdresser gets her 15 percent. I hope that's how much she's supposed to get. Now, I'm worried...
