~~~ Not necessarily just that but the amount of personal info, generally disclosed over time as a comfortable community feel evolves, that gets told. I know for me, it's easy to think I'm just "talking" with who I'm "talking" with when posting. That isn't the case. As the section in FAQ at this site (and most public sites) remind:{to paraphrase} you're basically posting it for the whole world with computer access to find. AND, some of that information is stuff I would have a difficult time knowing strangers knew about me yet I've made it available to easily access. It makes me feel creepy to think about that.
Armed with only the info I gleamed on the person I discussed earlier, from one area and IF WHAT IS POSTED IS THE TRUTH, I could probably figure out where their home was, go visit them at work, go find ill relatives of theirs in the correct hospital and know all the scripts they had to pick up at what drugstore... this is a person I no longer have contact with and have not for quite some time... that idea scares me.
I'm not saying sharing isn't a good thing. I'm just saying I don't think folks think about the very public disclosure that is public posting.
