How do I finally say goodbye to this place and walk away?
It no longer fills a need in my life, and that leaves me feeling sad.. every time I come here.
This place has lost so much of what I have always loved about it.. the tight community feeling, the thankfulness of having found somewhere, and the pleasure that knowing a random man (Dr Bob) out in the ether, had created this for us.
Now, its a constant stream of arguing & bitching.. complaining about the rules (even though this is Dr Bobs and no one else, and isn't governed by "US Law", or any other countries laws).. Even alot of the undrstanding has gone. It just feels like "points of principle" matter alot more than the feelings of fellow posters, and that the "great" American concept of Freedom of Speech should over ride everything else.
Everytime I visit these days I end up walking away disheartened.. Disgusted alot of the time.. Very very rarely by Dr Bobs actions, but 99% of the time its by the posters.
I wish it was like it was 5 years ago here, but I know thats never going to happen. (but then, I wish the entire internet was like it was 5 - 15 years ago) We can't turn back time.
So, I guess this is something of a goodbye.
I hope it is anyway
