After I suddenly realized that I was average, I decided to take some online IQ tests to see if I was right. I have a feeling online IQ tests are inaccurate, so I took three.
The first one I took was this 15 min timed test without using paper and pen. I barely got through half the test. I got a score of 100.
The second one was an untimed test. I used paper and pen. I got a score of 138.
The third one I took was also untimed. I didn't use a paper and pen. I got a score of 109.
Then I re-read the instructions for the third test and found out that use of a paper and pen were permitted. I retook this test and got a score of 125.
After writing these test I realized some things.
1. I do poorly on timed tests.
2. I do better when I can use a paper and pen.
3. I have problems visualizing things.
4. I have a very hard time unscrambling words. I would totally suck at Scrabble. LOLI'm surprised at the huge variations in my scores. From 100 to 138? That's crazy.
One thing seems pretty clear, I'm not below average and I'm not a genius.
