I think it can sometimes be a step forward to get angry. Not fly off the handle all the time, but to recognize and responsibly express anger. It's all too easy to convert it into something less scary without even realizing it, and discharge it in less direct ways. Or to go the other direction and rage about everything, but not recognize the real source of the anger.

I wonder if accepting and reacting appropriately to anger is one of the steps along the path to growing up, or wisdom, or something.

I am scared of anger, and have a long way to go to handling it responsibly in myself or when it's expressed by others.
