Hi Jake
Is the commodification of more or less everything, and the turning of us into consumers rather than citizens, and the now tight vertical corporate control, having a bad effect on moral standards generally? (sense of entitlement and production of shamelessness) Take the climbers on Mt Everest. 40 go past the bloke who is dying because he is past help. You have to wonder if that would have happened 50 years ago. I do think people are more alienated from the political process than at any other time in my life. Independants get elected now, and people are hungry for decency. So that's a bit hopeful.
