Spitfire Grill - wonderful; beautiful; sad at end but gets past it with a hope-for-the-future end. I LOVE it.

An Unfinished Life - recent - I think that's the title. With Robert Redford. I really enjoyed it.

Cold Comfort Farm - LOVED it. A comedy, but sort of weird. My husband & I loved it. Raved about it to my daughter (30) who didn't think it was all that great.

Not sure if you like what are sometimes called "women's movies" - I loved The Joy Luck Club. Very interesting. About several mother/daughter relationships between Oriental women. I've seen it 2 times. The 2nd time, my daughter & I watched it & agreed that we could weep loudly if necessary. It was a 26-kleenex movie!!!! But lovely.

I liked How To Make An American Quilt. About a young woman who goes to (I think) her aunt's house to work on her Thesis. While there her aunts relate events from their lives.

I know there are more, but I can't remember!!
