There has been a huge doctor exodus. For a while there there were notices in the paper every day. My internist wasn't actually flooded. But she said she just doesn't feel secure here anymore. They have portable skills and would rather feel secure somewhere else.
My mother has some doctors who have decided the cost of private practice is too high with that kind of risk, and have joined up with a local hospital clinic. I think that's also happened a lot.
