It's an unfulfilled ambition to read his stuff. "Notes From Underground" is so funny. "The Devils" I need to read, prefiguring as it does later events. I want an arrangement with someone where we read outloud to each other, but I'm far too isolated to organise it. Did he write "The Trial"? That might be Kafka. After he wrote it Kafka and his friends would read it out to each other and roll around laughing.
