The Samaritans...do they help you?

I was wondering about other people's experiences with e-mailing the Samaritans jo@samaritans.org for help.

Do you find that they helped you? How did they help you?

I think the idea of the Samaritans is really honourable, but I've never personally found them helpful. I can never get past the feeling that the replies they send follow a very strict formula and that I may as well be e-mailing a robot or something. I also don't like the idea that a different person replies every time.
