I have a student account and a staff account.
The department picks up the cost of the staff account
I have to put money on my student account to access the internet.
It is not just here that I can't access with my staff account, though, it is anything outside the varsity network. I will ask what is up. Well, I'll see if I can get to databases and google first...Actually I suppose that it is fair enough for me to pay for this really... It is just that it is pretty much considered a perk. You just can't listen to the radio online too much, and have to be careful about games etc.
