Test Your Emotional Balance

Posted by jujube on November 9, 2004, at 17:45:21

Are you in control . . . or just lucky. Take the quiz and find out. My results surprised me (given my current state of mind)! :-)

Rate each question from 1 - 6, with 1 meaning strongly disagree and 6 meaning strongly agree.

1. When I succeed at a task, it is usually
because I worked hard

2. How well I get along with others really
depends on their behaviour

3. Making a marriage last takes a lot of hard
work.

4. When I get what I want, it's usually
because I am lucky.

5. My life is determined by my own actions.

6. My health is affected more by environment
and genetics than by my own actions.

7. When I devise a plan, I am certain I can
make it work.

8. Many marriages fail because of outside
circumstances.

If your score is:

Greater than 40: You are a control freak. You believe that your home has grown in value because you made such a smart buy, not because of the booming real estate market. Heck, you wouldn't even give luck credit if you won he lottery - you'd be too busy patting yourself on the back for picking the right numbers. You tend to be happy and healthy as well, because your take-charge attitude often translates into responsible behaviour. The downside: You take many things personally, and like other driven personality types (think type A). You may face health risks such as high blood pressure, a risk factor for heart disease.

Less than 20: You're a femme fatalist. You tend to see events unfolding in your life as a result of outside forces, including chance and "powerful others" - doctors and bosses for example. Things tend to roll off your back - and that's good. But studies show that you kind of thinking is often linked to substance abuse, low self-esteem and depression.

20 - 40: You're basically balanced. Congratulations - you have a pretty good grip on reality. Don't change a thing.
