Who are the people who voted for Bush?
For one, ME! I disagree with Kerry on most issues and didn't find his arguments to be compelling enough to make me want to change leadership of this county.
Bush is far from perfect, but he actually gets the idea that our national security is important, while John Kerry's voting record shows a disturbing pattern - working with the North Vietnamese, deferring issues of national defense to the UN with his "global test", voting against the Gulf War (when we had support from the UN and actual troop commitments from France of all places). HOW COULD YOU NOT VOTE FOR THE FIRST GULF WAR, WHEN SADDAM INVADED KUWAIT? I don't get that one at all.
Given Kerry's history of these sort of judgements, I could not bring myself to vote for him.
Let's get past this election and remain focused on the issues that confront the entire nation: terrorism, taxes, national debt, social security solvency, etc. These are things that we all must remain focuses on, regardless of the outcome of this election. I don't think Bush can fix the national debt, but he sure could (should) slow down the spending (Kerry's programs carried a higher price tag than Bush's planned initiatives). Bush probably cannot keep SS solvent, but is keeping the topic alive (Kerry vowed not to touch it, which is unrealistic and irresponsible).
