I think it's fine to share as much as you feel comfortable sharing. I've always been something of a risk taker about sharing things with the board, and it rarely has caused me pain, and has often brought the reward of knowing I'm not as alone or as "different" as I had thought. It has caused problems at times, but not that often. There are nice people here.
