back to calculator watches

Posted by karen_kay on April 5, 2004, at 14:39:31

so, i heard from somewhere that someone (not to mention names or anything *KID 47*) wears a calculator watch. now, this i don't understand. ok, so i can see, if you are seven years old and need help cheating on a multiplication test wearing a calculator watch could come in handy. or perhaps, if you are deep sea diving and need to check the precise residual nitrogen time in minutes v. adjusted no-decompression limits (which is the actual bottom time) HOWEVER a dive timetable should be available for this occassion. (also, i'd like to point out, i think i'd prefer to take my chances in a decompression chamber than to be seen wearing a calculator watch any day!!) you could also use a calculator watch to figure out a tip, but any basic math can be done in your head by taking the amount of the bill, dividing by ten, and multiply by 2. that gives you 20%. always throw in some extra dollars, just to be kind and if the service stinks, throw in a few more, to show no hard feelings. it never hurts and makes you feel better. so, this begs the question.... what in the world is the use of a calculator watch? to time things you say? hmmm? to time things? can you not time things with a watch that has a face? can anyone think of a good use for a calculator watch?
