Hi, Tinydancer.

I know what that feels like. It is terrifying, but you can get through it. There are lots of organizations that can help you through this without destroying your credit. CCCS, or Consumer Credit Counseling Service is probably the oldest and best. Don't be afraid to ask for help.

This week my case manager started looking for places to live with me. She mentioned that I might need to go to food banks. That idea doesn't please me at all. I used to be one of those who, along with my kids, gave into the food banks. I didn't want to be needing them. I think that if people see food-drives as a bother, they should try out the other side.

There are other ways to stretch your food budget. There are bakery thrift stores, day-old donuts, eating more vegetables (which is very healthy), cooking and baking from scratch (You can eliminate all of those preservatives, and saves you lots on the finished product), Learning how to cut up chicken, fish, and meats. You can buy a whole chicken, and once it's cut up, you'll see that it's way more expensive if they do it for you.

I hope this helps a little.
Dee
