In reply to questions about sleep clinic for Penny, posted by Jai Narayan on February 6, 2004, at 15:34:48

Hi
I have done the sleep thing, and it was a complete waste of time and money. I might of just had a bad experience but in the end they told me that i had problems sleeping- NO, really!! that i had difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep etc. then finally after taking a pill to sleep (they don't like you to do that at the clinic) i woke up a few times and then went into a deeper sleep to be woken up 2 hours later feeling AWFUL. Couldn't they let me get any sleep.
I have also taken every sleeping drug that exists. I was hooked and didn't think i knew how to sleep. I thought it was some terrible disorder. Long story short I started weaning myself and eventually ended up on nothing. It was so difficult but i am so happy that i don't depend on pills anymore.
i of course have those horrible nights where i just don't go to sleep but i let it go and after several days then i let myself take a pill. (reading has really helped me fall asleep)
the sleep clinic told me to take klonopin- which defeated the whole point of going, i wanted off the drugs!
I hope this answered some of your questions :)
