Hmmm... Perhaps this is a sign that your therapist is a Highly Sensitive Person. To a highly sensitive person, the feel of hair that is perhaps in slight need of a haircut brushing the back of the neck might be extremely uncomfortable. Hence my ponytails and braids. I can't stand to have hair touch my skin.
