motivation (or rather the lack thereof)

Questions of motivation baffle me. It's almost 1:00 in the morning, I'm in the midst of a paper that is due shortly, and I'm having the hardest time getting myself to just sit down and do it. And no, being on this board isn't helping :)

I can't seem to apply the principle of delayed gratification here. I know that in the long run I will be much happier if I get some sleep and get my work done, yet...it's so much easier now to do what I want.

Yipes. Who knows why we do the things we do...
