Mash, thanks for the tip about public health. I'll look into that one too. I did look at speech/language, maybe I'll look again. You must work in a school, that's why I was confused thinking you were maybe an English teacher. My impression about the field growing was that it will be because of the aging population, lots of stroke patients needing rehabilitation. Kind of a sad thought.

I'm in US, single, and unencumbered. The biggest challenge to the career change idea is surviving financially with retraining and starting at the entry level in a new field, plus having the guts to do it.

Cheerleading others is fine. Just take the exact cheerleading and turn it back on yourself now and then.
