Last year (Dec. 2001) I had a minor car accident. A passenger in the other car complained about her knee being jammed into the dash on impact. Now, just before the statute of limitations ran out, her lawyer filed suit against me in order to extend the statute. I admit about as much as 40% to 50% of the responsibility, but the paper the lawyer drew up about me (summons??) was terrible to read! It sounded like I am a menace on the road, that I was careless and reckless, which isn't the case at all! Argh! I am trying not to take it personally, though, but it pisses me off that there is a legal document that demeans my character! I have insurance, so this will probably never go to court, I am just frustrated, and wanted to see if anyone else has been through this. Do ya'll know what I should expect from here on out?
