> Hi, about that yoga girl, before you take the big step of engaging her in conversation, how about starting even slower, like just a smile and eye contact, and then a "Hi", before or after class. That's just simple friendliness. You can judge her reaction to that, and gradually work up to complete sentences. Baby steps might make it easier for both of you.

Thank you Tabitha for you kind words of advice and support. I'm just going to have to take that initial step and develop some courage. Baby steps seems like a great idea and will enable me to save face if the vibes are not right!!!

I am very lucky in my yoga class. I have a teacher who has a great sense of humour and does not take the whole Yogic Guru thing at all seriously. Before I chose my current teacher I went to another class where it was forbidden to talk or have a joke prior to class as this would disturb the whole "karma inner peace thingy" atmosphere of those that were searching their inner selves for their true yogic identities prior to class. YUK!!!... definitely not for me.

Those attending my class are all very friendly normal people with a great sense of humour. For instance in our final class before christmas we were all doing some rather embarrassing tongue releases which involved sticking our tongues out of our mouths further and further. Considering my social phobia I don't know what overcame me but I made some "by the way" comment that we were all working up to doing a "Gene Simmons" and that we would all be able to get up on stage with KISS on their next Australian tour. I kid you not but the whole class just burst out in hysterics including the teacher. You just have to find a teacher and class in your area that suits you! I have really come to love my yoga and find I get much more tense during the holiday breaks when there are no classes.

OH, by the way I've seen your photo so I can assure you that any one behind you would have been looking at your ass in lust and NOT horror. You girls really need to become less self conscious about your asses because us guys (and some gals of course) are no where near as judgemental about this as you believe:))))

A very warm thankyou
