Nope. Any original work has copyright. No filing of papers needed. The is basic to copyright law (and is covered in Bob's FAQ)

However, although you do, by default, own copyright to anything you make, if you expect
to want to inforce this right it is best to file.
Then you do not have to prove your copyright.
Filing a copyright only strengthens your claim to this right.

I feel it is a very grey area to post a blank statement here on the board and then take everybodies copyright.
