Actually, he's not so little--or so fat anymore. He was in an excellent movie starring William H. Macy and Laura Dern about anti-Semitism in the '50s after the war (can't remember the title--aargh!). He's a very good actor.

I'm wondering if it's nostalgia you're experiencing. Sometimes we associate these songs with particularly good times of our lives.
I am not a big Heart fan--at least I haven't been since I was a teen (I'll be 40 in October!), but I've been cranking their Greatest Hits CD lately--that "Magic Man" is an excellent song, and it brings back those cool days for me.
"Paradise by the Dashboard Light" is certainly a rock anthem (as opposed to a classic). There's no reason really to wonder why it kicks ass for you, know what I mean?
