In reply to I feel Sept 11 depression coming, posted by John2222 on August 23, 2002, at 23:06:29

We all do it to some extent--dwell on things or worry about them before they happen. I had that problem with sleep. At 6:00 p.m., I'd worry about whether I'd be able to sleep. The worry kept me from sleeping. Then the worry started earlier in the day, and I never slept.

Find something else to occupy your mind. Don't read about it or watch TV, and DON'T talk to people about it. Try to focus on the positive things in your life right now. If it makes you feel better to join candlelight vigils and such, by all means do it! But my guess is that it will only contribute to your sense of dis-ease.

Thinking about it in advance, worrying that you will become depressed again because of a date on the calendar will likely seal your fate. So stop it now, 'kay?
