Hi Dan,
Wow, that's some story. How awful to have this vision of perfection dropped into your life out of nowhere, then be disappointed by her. Does kind of make you want to curse the universe, doesn't it? I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but I probably can't. I think those first romantic disappointments are the most painful in life-- you haven't grown many defenses yet. But, like Shar said, time will take the edges off the pain.
Keep writing about it too, it's a great outlet. Do you keep a journal? That's been a big help to me.
