By the way, when I said I prefer to avoid them I was referring to sports, not sports fans. I just don't like having to listen to games blaring on TV, etc. and I wouldn't want my regular routine disrupted by them.
Your plan sounds like a good one—the supermarket and other public places will probably be quieter at that time.
