Hi Scott,

> I found all of the pictures on the Internet. Most of them were from news sources like CNN, MSNBC, USAToday, New York Times, Washington Post, etc. Believe it or not, some of the best photos came from newspaper sites in places like Delaware, Seattle, and London. If I can remember more, I'll get back to you.

That's okay, I was just curious. Newspapers really in general have great pictures; it's just hard to appreciate them on newsprint.

>In the meantime, if you come across any other websites with quality pictures, I'd be grateful for the URLs. I would really like to archive them.

Okay, though I would probably do the the searches you did. I really liked the way you put them together, anyway.

> I had to retouch a great percentage of the images because I enlarged most. I used Paint Shop Pro, an older version that was available as shareware. Newer versions are available, but Jasc wants a hundred dollars or so. It is not rated very high compared to some of the other ones you can find for comparable money. PhotoShop is usually considered to be the best image editing software.

I have Photoshop. It's wonderful, but I've never really used anything else to compare. I have had a lot of fun playing with it for the last couple of years . Next year, I will move from printing by hand to primarily printing though photoshop and a new software system, which basically adds the equivilent output of close to 4000 dpi off a regular Epson printer.

There is no way I could learn much more because of how immensely difficult reading is for me. There are a bunch of books out there. I have had to get good at squeezing a lot out of a little.

Well for about that level of knowledge I paid close to $500 for someone to write my code. And that included code only; no design. I actually layed out my website in photoshop. So I think you are underestimating your skills. The guy who did mine wasn't working for a anyone else (this was a side thing he does), or it would have cost me much much more.

I never figured it out. I made a mistake in buying it. First, I really didn't have the time to learn it. I really wanted my website up. Second, I think, for me, it is much easier to start from scratch and I would have done better to learn HTML directly. I think it is harder to learn packages in some ways than languages, because modifiying someone else's code is much harder than designing your own. I think I might have an older version of photoshop (4.0) if you have a MAC. Let me know. The only thing with photoshop is it takes a ton of memory, especially when using high resolution.
