Judy,
I'm so sorry that happened to you. Of course I've heard of pdocs taking advantage of patients, but thought (hoped?) they were a very rare minority. It's certainly easy to understand how that can happen (I'm reading the part about how much power therapists can have over their patients). But what I can't imagine is how one deals with that trauma. From that source. Especially having had to deal with it in the past as well. How can you ever trust again?

Have you gotten to that part yet? Where women who have experienced abuse (especially sexual) in childhood are pretty much sitting ducks in a therapeutic relationship. That it takes a shrink with very strong boundaries to handle such women. I re-read that section where it said the therapist can just 'stop' the relationship and re-enter the real world and the woman (in this case I overdosed) needs a therapist to work through the trauma. The book was extremely accurate, so much that it hurt. Take care, judy
