Bioflavonoids yes. But alcohol in small amounts is also good for you. As for it being a depressant, it's a *CNS* depressant. To assume it therefore causes the condition we call depression is like saying that because shoes leave a depression in the lawn, wearing shoes will give you depression. Plenty of people drink without getting depression. However for us I believe it's dose related. Too much continually consumed will protract and worsen depression in most of us.
